Isabelle Bscher, Krystyna Gmurzynska, and Mathias Rastorfer of Galerie Gmurzynska hosted a private dinner to honor famed photographer Jean Pigozzi’s series Charles and Saatchi: The Dogs at Sevva on March 27th to kick off Art Basel Hong Kong.
The night welcomed more than 50 friends, collectors and art professionals, including Nellee Hooper and Alexandre de Betak who joined the Gmurzynska family to celebrate the new series and their exhibition at Art Basel Hong Kong. The event saw guests enjoying musings from “The King of Selfies”, Jean Pigozzi and Diana Picasso.
At Art Basel Hong Kong Galerie Gmurzynska presents Jean Pigozzi’s new photo series, Charles and Saatchi, the Dogs at Booth E11 on level three, which will be accompanied by a newly released book by Damiani about this series with text by Charles Saatchi. The booth will also feature a selection of works by Robert Indiana coinciding with “LOVE Long: Robert Indiana and Asia” the first serious retrospective of the artist’s work in Asia at the Asia Society Museum in Hong Kong. Alongside the works of Indiana, the gallery will showcase several masterworks by Wifredo Lam, the celebrated Chinese-Cuban Surrealist-Cubist painter as a preview to a comprehensive retrospective of his work under preparation for the gallery’s Zurich premises this summer. Other works on display will include masterworks by Yves Klein, Fernand Léger, Jeff Koons and Joan Miró.
